PORTFOLIO ENERGY PERFORMANCE

Better Buildings Challenge Partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source energy use intensity (EUI) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. Corcoran Management's portfolio consists of more than 10 buildings and 1.16 million square feet. Partner has improved energy performance by 8% from a 2014 baseline, making progress towards a goal of 20% by 2024. Energy savings has been achieved with the help of the MassSave Lighting retrofit and LIMF programs.  In 2018 Corcoran has invested in a higher level of energy monitoring / spike tracking through WegoWise which has resulted in energy savings through earlier energy waste detection.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE BY PROPERTY

Looking at the percent improvement in energy performance across all facilities can provide insight into how an organization is saving energy. Corcoran Management has achieved energy performance improvement of greater than 10% at two of its properties. There is one property that has experienced an increase in Source EUI. This property have been targeted for future energy efficiency improvements.

IDENTIFYING OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT

Property-level energy performance metrics, including EUI and percent improvement to date, are critical to track progress over time and identify opportunities for additional energy savings. Corcoran Management's portfolio consists of properties with a wide range of baseline EUI values, most of which are from 90 to 130 kBtu/sq. ft. The majority of properties have shown energy improvement since 2014. The properties located near or below the 0% axis may present good opportunities for further savings.

PORTFOLIO WATER PERFORMANCE

Better Buildings Challenge Partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source water use intensity (WUI) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. Corcoran Management's portfolio consists of more than 10 buildings and 1.16 million square feet. Partner has improved water performance by 11% from a 2014 baseline, making progress towards a goal of 20% by 2024.  Water savings have been achieved through water spike tracking and early leak detection.  Additionally the implemention of a new protocol to confirm and remedy leaks has been implemented.  Corcoran has realized energy savings through leak avoidance.
